Diner
Diner
Date: Sun May 5
Stage: Farm
Diner is a singer/songwriter who grew up working in her parent’s cafe just outside
of Portland, OR.
“I used to hide that I was the local diner girl and that I worked there with my
parents… but I found the beauty in it… I was raised by a community of people
that knew me before I could ever see over the counter..”
Her edge and motivation come from her mother Helen, who was in an all-girl punk
rock band that started in her parents garage in the 80’s…they went on to tour with
bands like Black Flag and have a record with The Dead Kennedy’s. Diner’s
inspiration comes from growing up working in the diner from the age of 5. She
likes to write from the perspective that she’s in the dreamworld she created in her
head to help her get through a shift.
“Music has given me the ability to take from my present reality and dream up my
favorite scenarios..
Whatever or however random it is, I can be anything when I’m listening to
music…it becomes real for me and I hope I can create that same feeling for others
when they listen to mine” she says.
“…and all Ill ever be is just your local diner girl” DINER is currently working on a
EP to be released in 2024 on record label Saint & Citizen Music.
