Maurice Smith & Delta Soul

Maurice Smith is a son of the South. Hailing from Mississippi, Maurice was heavily influenced by the Delta Blues, Mississippi Gospel, and Memphis Soul. He credits those influences for a sound he dubs, Delta Soul. This unique sound has set Maurice and his band, Delta Soul apart throughout the industry. Smith’s sound has landed him on the Grammy Nominated project, “Lion King: The Gift” soundtrack with Beyonce and several Grammy winning projects with Kanye West. Maurice Smith was also featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series with the legendary Too Short. Smith has recently released several projects that fuse together genres such as house, country, and R&B. The most recent release, “Pusherman” is a musical journey through the genres. “Pusherman” reached top 5 on the world House music chart, Traxsource. Coming up next for Smith is his first studio project with his band, Delta Soul, which will take you on a journey through his upbringing in Mississippi and his roots as a Black Cowboy. “Outlaw on the Run” tells of Smith’s journey from the Mississippi Delta out to the Valleys of Southern California.
