Ryan Guzman aka Ryan G. is a Chicano born Southern
California-based DJ who has been deeply involved in several
different underground endeavors over the past 20 years . With
roots in the underground house and techno scene of the late 90s,
Ryan became enamored with “Rare Grooves and began seeking
out obscure 80s boogie funk as well as as rare 60’ & 70s deep
soul gems. As a member of the world famous Funkfreaks crew,
Ryan has been able to spread their brand of “Street Funk” across
the world in places, such as Germany, Sweden, Amsterdam, as
well as numerous states across the nation, and open for acts like
George Clinton/ Parliament Funkadelic, Melba Moore & The
Psychic Mirrors. Also a key member in the IE’s Grizzly State
collective having shared the stage with Dibiase, Free The Robots,
& Gaslamp Killer ,etc. In recent years, Ryan has also honed his
talents behind the scenes, lending his ears and helping to A&R
acts for Daptone/ Penrose Records such as Thee Sacred Souls,
Thee Sinseers, and Jason Joshua just to name a few.
