She contributed to 8 of the 14 tracks on .Paak’s 2018 album Oxnard and even dropped a rap verse on the Dr. Dre- featured “Mansa Musa” before securing a Grammy for her work on .Paak’s Ventura in 2020. Most recently Cocoa is the only woman to feature on Dr. Dre’s latest release in collaboration with Grand Theft Auto on “Fallin’ Up” Inspired by her West Indian heritage, her church roots, and her love of hip-hop, this Jamaican- American songstress is establishing herself as a creative force that cannot be ignored. Having come a long way from her days on hit TV show The Four, Cocoa Sarai not only writes and sings, but also engineers herself in the studio and directs her own music videos. Controlling her narrative is important to Cocoa, which is why she’s happy to spend hours in the edit bay making decisions on every aspect, right down to the coloring. Currently splitting her time between songwriting, recording and running her new clothing line “Strange Fame”, Cocoa Sarai is here to stay.
