Erick Mondragon aka DJ Ghetto Funk born n raised in Mexico City, started spinning off a guitar amp using two CD players at funk shows back in High School bumping funk from CDs I got at the swap meet. All the homies would say I was ghetto as hell and all I played was funk… Ghetto Funk was born. Never owning a laptop I never used one for DJing and played all around clubs, venues, bars, yards, and Italian mob parties. I once DJed for the offspring’s bday party and all we played was punk. Started producing with limited tools and the Tascam tape recorder making music with my guitar and bass, joining several bands through the years and releasing 3 albums in three different bands I learned how to record on 12″ tape using real time live methods Applying all that to todays technology. Having two daughters that are the age where they are takin interests in music production and film, my youngest jumps n the decks from time to time and understands the movement of sound. Giving her a Youtube channel to post her mixes she gave herself the name Ghetto Fresa becasue she likes fresas and her dad. We DJ and collect sounds meeting people and creatures all around, waiting for the right time to release our selections.
